Jacob Dinkins, BMDB Partner

Born and raised in Alabama, Jacob came to the building trade the roundabout way starting with facility maintenance at camp facility in Mississippi, then biking across the country, then grooming ski slopes and wrangling horses in Colorado. Jacob, who is known as the no-nonsense partner at BMDB, is the first point of contact for prospective design build clients. After growing a small building firm into one of the foremost general contracting companies in Brevard, N.C., Jacob is excited to guide clients through the entire process of building a custom-designed project.

Rob Skeen, BMDB Partner

Rob is BMDB’s partner with a mind for logistics, heart for sustainability and an eagle eye for the details. His thoughts never stray far from his passion for finely crafted things. “I have more drawings and doodles of pieces of furniture in my dresser drawer than I could ever hope to build,” says the Georgia native, who first settled in Brevard, N.C. in 2000 with his wife, Kim, to work for a summer camp and residential school. A graduate of Appalachian State University, he made good on his promise to be self-employed and “free by 40” and teamed up with Jacob in 2013 to start a small building company that quickly grew into one of Brevard’s most renowned general contracting firms. Rob is the proud father of two daughters, Cedar Ann, a student at Appalachian State, and Lilian. When he is not making artisan cutting boards or one-of-a-kind fine furniture in his free time for the sheer accomplishment of it, he can be found riding his mountain bike or traveling with his family.

COMMUNITY

Our team is committed to being good stewards of the land we work on and the communities we work with. Our values are to leave a place in a better state than in which we found it, to enhance it, and never to harm it.

Tannery Park Skatepark - Members of the BMDB team assisted in raising funds and ushering a skate park project through the city approval process.
